Satisfied

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
- Psalm 23:1

Prayer

Father, you are my shepherd. Where you lead, I will follow. I have been satisfied in your presence as you provide life in abundance, fill my life with blessings, and lead me in the right way. You know the best way for me to go even when I don’t so I will trust you. You satisfy me when I rest in your presence. At every level of my created being that you formed you restore life to me and fill my depths with hope and joy. Father, your way is right, it is good, it is glorious; just as you are supreme in all things. Even when you guide me into danger I will not fear because you cannot be overcome with evil and you are with me. Father, give me the faith to walk in faith instead of fear when it feels like my world is collapsing around me. Thank you for the life you give to me, for the blessings you pour out upon me, the grace you generously give to me every day. Your love is the song that follows me everyday and welcomes me into your presence for all my days.

Training

Only following Jesus will fully satisfy. Choose today to follow Jesus. Choose Jesus as your shepherd: as your leader. Choose to follow His leadership, His life, and His way.

Jesus is enough. We don’t need anyone or anything except Jesus as our shepherd.

Does following Jesus mean our lives will be exactly what we want and that we will get everything we want? No. Following Jesus is not about me and what I want. Following Jesus is all about Him and what He wants. Thankfully, He wants for us what is best for us.

So then does following Jesus mean we will be corrected and disciplined? Yes, with the same staff and rod that Jesus comforts and reassures of His presence and power to stand for us, He guides us to see and be confronted with how we are not standing for Him. He helps us to see when we are chasing things that will not satisfy.

When we follow Jesus we experience His goodness and mercy. When we follow Jesus, we know He is enough. When we follow Jesus, we are satisfied in Him.

Warriors, follow the One who satisfies.
