Delightful Dwelling

O LORD, I love the habitation of your house and the place where your glory dwells.
- Psalm 26:8

Prayer

Father, I desire to know your never ending love and faithfulness; set my heart to love your presence and desire to dwell with you daily. Help me walk in integrity in your way and not in the way of falsehood; free me from guilt and shame. You know my mind and you know my heart, turn them to trust you without wavering. Father, I will tell of the wondrous deeds you have done! Thank you for saving and transforming me, for redeeming me and being gracious to me. In your presence I will join in giving you praise because you are loving, faithful, and worthy of all praise. I set my eyes on delighting in who you are so that I walk in your ways. Father, teach my heart to delight in your presence so that I may declare and share how delightful you are. Father, thank you for letting me experience the glories of your presence and delighting in you.

Where do you seek delight?

We can experience varying levels of delight in many things that God has created for us to enjoy that offer us reflections of His magnificence. The greater the thing or person is that we are finding delight the more our delight in that object or person can be. God is the one who created us and despite our depraved decisions He delighted in us enough to send HIs Son Jesus to die in our place, to redeem us by His grace so that we could experience relationship with God, so we could find true and full delight in Him, in His presence, in His dwelling place. Delighting in our God is the greatest experience of delight we can experience because God is the greatest.

When we dwell in God’s presence we will develop greater delight in God. When we delight in God we will desire more to dwell with God.

Warriors, will you seek God’s presence? Will you delight in God today?
